Harry graduated from Manchester in summer 2025 with a degree in Economics and no clear idea of what he wanted to do next.
He applied to banks because that seemed to be what Economics graduates did. He applied to graduate schemes because everyone else was applying. Somewhere along the way, getting a job became more important than finding one he actually wanted.
He started in audit, realised it wasn’t the right fit, and moved to a tech startup six months later. He loved it. But finding work he enjoyed had involved more luck than he’d have liked.
Clive Careers grew out of that experience. A way to explore what interests you, understand your options and find roles you might never have thought to look for.
With a border collie to help.
Even a graduate who knows exactly what they want can't see the market. The big job boards only list roles from companies that pay to be there: a sliver, presented as the whole. Clive watches tens of thousands of UK companies through their own careers pages, which is how he gets to make a claim no board can. If it's out there, he's seen it.
Charging students for help finding work would be wrong three separate ways, one of them legally. So: free. No trial, no premium tier, no card details.
A graduate's energy belongs on landing the right job, not on scouring the internet to find out it exists. That's the whole company, in one sentence.
Clive Careers runs lean, roughly one human and one very industrious dog, because keeping costs near zero is what makes "free, permanently" a promise rather than a phase.
The dog, briefly: Clive is a border collie in round yellow glasses. Man's best friend, put to work. Collies are bred to fetch things, watch everything, and bark only when it matters. It seemed apt.
