Clive
The rules between you and Clive Careers Ltd, in plain English: what Clive does and does not do, what he costs (nothing), what we ask of you, and where responsibility sits.
Last updated: 8 October 2026Clive is an early-stage service run through Clive Careers Ltd (company no. 17417935, 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA). These terms are the agreement between you and Clive Careers Ltd, and you agree to them when you create an account. If you only browse the website, the sections on acceptable use, ownership, liability and the legal frame still apply.
The privacy policy explains how we use your personal information. Agreeing to these terms does not mean you have consented to any particular use of your data.
To create an account you must be at least 18 and looking for work in the UK. Use only your own account and keep your email secure, because anyone who can read it can sign in as you. While Clive is in beta, places are limited and features will change quickly.
Clive provides AI-powered job-search help for graduates. He asks about you, turns your answers into a search, ranks the UK graduate schemes in his pool against it and explains each match. You can save roles, open the employer's advert and track your applications.
Clive does not apply for jobs for you, send your details to employers, introduce you to employers or negotiate for you. You apply on the employer's own website, under its terms. If we add a way for Clive to pass something on to an employer for you, it will only happen when you ask for it in the app.
Clive searches a large pool of UK graduate roles, but not every vacancy in the market. Roles can close, change or be described inaccurately by the employer. We provide Clive with reasonable care and skill.
You are talking to an AI, not a person. AI can misunderstand you and produce information that is incomplete, out of date, inaccurate or biased. Clive's matches are recommendations, not a decision by any employer and not a promise of an interview or a job. He does not give legal, immigration or financial advice. Before you rely on anything important, such as a deadline, salary, location, entry requirement or sponsorship, check it on the employer's own advert. If something looks wrong, tell us.
Clive is free for graduates and always will be. Employers may in future pay us to promote roles; a paid placement will always be labelled, and payment never buys an unlabelled recommendation.
You own what you give Clive. You give Clive Careers Ltd a licence to store, analyse and adapt it for as long as we need to provide, secure and improve Clive as the privacy policy describes. When your content is deleted the licence ends for that content, but improvements already made to Clive are not undone. What Clive writes for you is yours to use for your own job search.
Clive's name, mascot, brand, software, database and content belong to Clive Careers Ltd. Employer names, logos and adverts belong to their owners. An employer appearing in Clive does not mean it has partnered with us. If you are an employer and want a role corrected or removed, email [email protected].
These terms ask you not to bypass our access controls. We'd also like to ask nicely 👉👈 Clive was built by someone with no technical background beyond a Codecademy course in 2019, so if you spot a weakness, please tell us at [email protected] rather than testing it.
Clive has usage limits so the service stays fair and affordable to run. If you reach one, you can carry on later.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer. Subject to that, we are not responsible for an employer's decisions or conduct, for losses caused by inaccurate job information supplied by an employer or another third party where we used reasonable care in presenting it, or for losses neither of us could reasonably have foreseen. These exclusions do not apply where our failure to use reasonable care and skill caused the loss. Clive is for your personal career search, so we are not liable for business losses.
You can close your account at any time under Account and data in the app, and download your data first from the same page. We may suspend or close an account that seriously breaches these terms or creates a legal or security risk, and will tell you why unless that would create a risk. We may close an unused account after emailing you first. If we stop running Clive, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email where we can, so you can download your data.
We may change the service, and these terms, as Clive grows. We will date each version and email you about a material change at least 14 days before it takes effect, unless a change is required by law or for security. If you do not accept a change, you can close your account before it takes effect.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you keep the mandatory protections of the law where you live and can bring a claim in your local courts. If one part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. Only you and Clive Careers Ltd can enforce them.
Questions or complaints: [email protected]. We would like the chance to fix a problem before either of us reaches for a courtroom. The dog is quicker, too.
